My Story
As you can tell, I sure like to have fun! I've been home schooled all my life, traveled widely across the US visiting museums and historical sites, won awards at international science and history competitions, and enjoyed family. I'm still a farm boy who loves Christ and aspires to be a gentleman.
Engineering Projects
I only have one science fair project per year, but I'm always tinkering and making something new. My fair projects get developed and tested over a long time and the fair is when I get to share with many interested people all at once, both other students and professors.
History Projects
National History Day allows me to create a museum style project and research topics deeply. Primary source documents, like letters, original records, and artifacts, as well as secondary sources from other scholars allow me to create a well documented argument with historical context.
Math Club
Soli Deo Gloria Math Club attracts smart home school kids from all around Atlanta. I have been with the club since I was in the 5th grade. As captain, I make sure teamwork is productive during meets and practices. I also volunteer with the middle schoolers and help them learn.
Government
I believe the Constitution is a timeless document which speaks to all people at all times. I also believe a government should be small and allow the Invisible Hand to control the economy, not regulation. I started the SDG Chapter of Young America Foundation to share these principles with others.
I'm Pro-Life!
I believe that a person is a person no matter how small, and that God created ever person for a distinct purpose. Abortion is hard for everyone involved and I want to encourage people to give their surprise babies life.
Family
I am a middle child, the third of six. There are distinct advantages, like having lots of nice clothes that my brothers outgrew. And there are disadvantages, like my parents already hearing that excuse from five other people. I have tons of cousins, a sister in law, and two nieces.
Wildlife Conservation and Farming
I am blessed to live in a rural part of a suburban county. I drove tractors more than cars before I was 16. I have experience working with most common livestock except horses. I have made my own wildlife plantings for conservation, not hunting, because I enjoy watching animals. I love the country!
Running
Running will be part of my life forever to prevent health problems. I have a lifetime sport with lots of friends in all age groups and from all over the state. I run at least one 5K race every weekend and sometimes more. I feel my best after running 10K. I even hold two GA 25K age group records!
