My Story
Hey guys! I'm Paula M. Ait-Ahmad. Born and raised in the "I live where you vacation" island, called Puerto Rico. It's Sunday morning and the sky is grey (too bad I can't go to the beach), so why not do some college planning? Only one more year of high school! So excited to see what's ahead.
Lollapalooza!
Although my Disney's Hits CD was all I wanted to listen to at age 9, my parents were not so keen of my off-pitch singing of the same tune over and over. That's when they decided to show me the real deal. Rolling Stones, Radiohead, Depeche Mode... We went to Lolla 2016 and loved it!
Race for the Cure
I was introduced to Race for the Cure by Susan G. Komen at the age of 14 at school. It seemed like a great opportunity to do some activities with my friends and as an excuse to go for ice cream afterwards. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Two years later and I am now one of the leaders.
Jobs, Jobs, and more Jobs
I started babysitting my sister when I was 12, then my cousins, then my neighbours. In 2016, I had a summer job at MCS. Although it was only working with paperwork, I had so much fun and learned about the inner works of a company. Now, I'm a busgirl at La Doña! I love getting to meet so much people.
Volunteer at the VA Hospital
I just earned my 100 hours of service badge at the VA Hospital! I volunteer wherever they need help, but I'm usually at the Blind Rehab Center. Volunteering there made me realize that I love working at a hospital. My goal is to reach 300 hours or more. Anything for the veterans and their family.
Dressing up
I may not be the best, but it's so much fun to dress up, sing, act, and dance. My friends are such exciting people, we do many activities for school or just for ourselves to enjoy. This includes buying our favorite tv show's costume.
