Love animals

Love, love, love animals. I grew up in Eastern Europe (Moldova) on a small farm and adored being around them. I recently got the opportunity to visit an exotic petting zoo. :) I played with baby tigers and lions and got to hold a snake around my neck which helped me overcome my fear of snakes!!

Proud aunt since '06

Being the youngest in the family has its perks and being an aunt is one of them!! I adore children and have learned so much about these little ones. It has also fueled my desire to become a physician.

Mission Trips and Volunteering

Helping others in need and spreading the love of Jesus is my most important mission. Whether it has been helping do landscape work, lead Bible studies with children or help with childcare... it warms my heart and humbles me in so many ways.

Being a twin

My partner in crime and built in best friend since birth - my twin sister Lucia. I cherish having to share everything with her - laughs, experiences, and hardships. I always have someone to comfort me and my cheerleader since day 1.

Travelling and exploring

I adore traveling! The rush of new places, and learning new things fuels everything I do. I hiked in the mountains in the Santa Fe mountains, took the 2 mile tram up the Sandia Mountains, saw grazing elk in Colorado... I could've have been more mesmerized!!

Science pursuits

I love getting involved in anything science related. I was part of a group that presented Leigh Syndrome at a Biology conference. I enjoyed the work and getting to hear Rhett Butler play 2 guitars simultaneosly and speak about his year in Medical school.

Visiting the Creation Museum in Kentucky

Being a Christian and learning more about Christ on Earth as well as how it was created is of utmost importance to me. I visited The Creation Museum in Kentucky and learned how the world was created from a Creationist's view. It all left me amazed, speechless and confident of my Creator!!

My modern dance class

Taking a modern dance class in my freshman year helped me develop a better posture, a better character, confidence and I also gained lifelong friendships.

A student ambassador at Collin College

By representing Collin College as a student ambassador, I have grown and become a better leader and have gained outstanding speaking qualities. I have been humbled in more ways that I had thought possible. I enjoyed giving tours to future students and helping at workshops organized by my college.

Leadership Camps

Leadership camps have taught me that being a leader means not only to give out orders but when you take initiative when no one knows which way to go, showing bravery and boldness when you would rather not speak at all. It means knowing when to allow others to lead and follow them.

My interest in politics

I got the wonderful opportunity to meet Scott Turner- our state representative for our district and former NFL player and got to discuss important issues such as gun control and in state tuition for international students with him. I also visited the George Bush Presidential Library at SMU!!

Orientation Leader

Giving tours, presentations, organizing and helping out at Orientations has improved my leadership skills. I have learned that everyone that comes into a new environment needs friends and I got to be that person for many incoming freshman at Collin College!!

Phi Theta Kappa and The National Honors Society member

Bible camps in Moldova

Every summer, since I have been 15 years old, I have been going to Bible camps where I would do Bible studies, play baseball and do fun relay games. Bible studies where not openly accepted in Moldova and the only way to do them was at camps. I am very grateful for the great Christian leaders!!

Heritage and Traditions

I am currently an international student in the US but I never forget my roots and the traditions of my home country, Moldova. I love wearing the traditional dress with my twin sister and participating in choir competitions.
