My Story

Balancing AP courses, National Honor Society, Key Club and National Spanish Honor Society keep me busy along with working at Jersey Mike's Subs. When I am not working, studying or doing community service you can find me hanging out with friends, playing video games, reading or playing basketball.

Playing basketball has been my hobby since 2nd grade. I have played on recreational teams, select teams, and my school basketball teams from 7-9 grade. I play now for fun. It has been good way for me to keep active and get my exercise. I am interested in playing on an intramural team in college.

Playing the guitar has been a passion of mine since I was 7 or 8. I no longer take guitar lessons, however I continue to learn by watching guitar tutorials on YouTube.

National Honor Society

I am honored to be among the students selected for membership in the National Honor Society at James Bowie High School. NHS members reflect tenacity and excellence in the areas of scholarship, character, leadership and service; these are all traits that I value and strive to achieve.

National Spanish Honor Society

I was inducted into the National Spanish Honor Society Spring 2015. Learning Spanish language & culture has broadened my outlook. One day I hope to be able to study abroad in Spain. I am currently in my 4th year of Spanish and I look forward to continue learning to speak the language fluently.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving

My life has been affected by drunk driving; when I was 2 my father died in a single car collision as a result of his decision to drive drunk. Now, I speak to people about the dangers of driving under the influence so they won’t make the choice to drive drunk and possibly hurt themselves or others.

Video games

Playing video games online with my friends helps me to wind down after a long day at school and work. My favorite video games are Fifa, Call of Duty and NBA 2k.

Steel Drums & Percussion Band Member

Music is a connection. For me, music connects me to my father and his Jamaican culture. I didn’t have a chance to get to know him because he died in a car crash three weeks before my second birthday. Joining the steel drums class at school made me feel more connected to him.

Jersey Mike's Sub's

Working at Jersey Mike's Subs has been great. I have enjoyed working there because I get to see the owner in action and I also have the opportunity to learn how a franchise works. I work about 10-20 hours a week. This experience will help me in starting my business after I graduate with my MBA.

Business and Financial Books

Reading books and articles about business, entrepreneurship and investing have helped educate me in business and finance. I am interested in learning as much as possible so that I am well versed in financial literature to prepare me for my life and career.
