My Story
Hello? Is it me you're looking for? If you're looking for Michelle Lapak, Honors Mentor, you've come to the right place. Starting college in an honors program can seem daunting, but I want you to know that I'm here to help you with anything you may need and to be a friendly face around campus :)
UWF Honors PR Committee Chair
Not only will I be an Honors Mentor, I am also the Public Relations Committee Chair for the Honors Council! I deal with everything from event advertisement, to student spotlights, and even dank memes.
SEA-PHAGES and Chemistry Scholars
SEA-PHAGES was my favorite Honors credit course last year and it even helped me finalize my Biochemistry major choice. From there, I joined Chem Scholars and Chem Club and continued my passion for science over the summer as part of Dr. Olaitin's chemistry research group involving mass spectrometry.
Honors Leadership Retreat
Every fall semester, the Honors leaders and a few other students get to go on an overnight camping trip where we get to do challenges and activities that emphasize different leadership styles. It's one of my favorite events because it's just such a fun bonding session with all your friends.
Other Random Facts About my Life
When I'm not doing school work, I'm either looking at memes, amateurly cooking, watching TV, or napping to avoid life's responsibilities. My Netflix queue includes Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, The Office, and more. I'm a sucker for YA novels. According to a personality test, I am a nerd.
