My Story
Hi. My name is Megan Bilyeu & I am a senior at North Mesquite High School where I rank in the top 3% of my class. I'm a flute player & squad leader in the Big Blue Marching Band & a member of the National Honor Society & the clinical rotation program. I hope to one day become a nurse practitioner.
Fireproof Student Ministries
Fireproof is my youth group family. We enjoy camps, life groups, retreats & competitions together. During the summer of my sophomore year, I enjoyed volunteering at the church for the Joshua project and for the last two years, we have competed at the North Texas Assemblies of God Fine Arts Festival.
Mesquite First Assembly of God
I've been attending Mesquite First Assembly of God since the first grade when I began studying as a Missionette. I read the entire New Testament, memorized & recited numerous scriptures & the 16 Fundamental Statements of Faith & earned over 20 badges to receive the prestigious title of Honor Star.
NMHS Big Blue Marching Band
I have a 350 member band family and we spend lots of time together during marching season. Sometimes we get to school at 7am and don't leave til 7pm. Plus we have to memorize a quadrillion steps for our show. Freshman and Junior year, we were alternates to the state competition. Go Big Blue Band!!!
Community Service
I try to make time in my busy schedule to volunteer at various events throughout the year & thankfully, I am also involved in clinical rotation & National Honor Society, which both provide excellent volunteer opportunities at places such as Head Start, Sharing Life Ministries & Baylor Hospital.
Freshman Cheer (Head Cheerleader)
I had a lot of fun in cheer. I was honored to be voted in as head cheerleader and it took a lot of work getting acclimated to high school life, cheer & marching band all at the same time. I made so many memories and I'm thankful for the lessons I learned about time management & perseverance.
