My Story

I am Jingyi. I was born in Chengdu, China. I moved to the USA with my family when I was 16 years old. I cherish every moment with my family , friends, and those who have helped me on my journey. I live a life of passion and adventure.

Art

Art has been a great part of my life. Art embodies my inner passion and enlightens my perception of life. Art helps me to relieve stress. I have studied and tried all types of painting styles such as watercolor painting, traditional Chinese ink wash painting, and oil painting.

Sports

Sports encourage me to step out of my comfort zone and take responsibility. I realize the importance of hard work and leadership through different sports. Whether it be swimming, cheerleading, equestrianism, or hiking, I can always free myself from anxiety.

Cooking Club, Co-founder and President

I feel that a cuisine can represent a person's identity and culture. In order to increase people's awareness of different cuisines and cultures, I found the Cooking Club with my best friends during freshman year. We would sell different kinds of food at football games and provide cooking classes.

Kitchen Depot, LLC

I have been working as a Sales and Customer Service Representative every Saturday and during the summer. Thanks to this opportunity, my communication skills have improved substantially. I have also learned how to serve customers' best interests.

China Acupuncture Volunteering

An education is an experience that should not be limited to the classroom. Thus, I spent 60 hours every summer volunteering in Dr. Lai's clinic which is located in Redlands, California. I experienced the mix of Western and Eastern medical techniques.
