My Story

Hi, I'm Jerrad and I'm from Gulf Breeze, Florida. I'm a Junior studying Mechanical Engineering and my two ultimate goals in life is to design rides for theme parks and explore the libraries of the world. I love reading, writing, drawing, and binge watching cooking competition shows.

Personality

When I'm asked to describe myself I always struggled, but this is me. I've always been a fringe person, someone on the outside, a watcher, but I now realize that it's helped to shape me into the person I love being and I now fully embrace the quiet, geeky, slightly awkward guy I am.

Study Abroad In Greece 2016

I spent 2 weeks in Greece with Honors learning about the country's history and how mythology impacted the development of the country. By far my best experience with the program.

Adrenaline Inducing Stunts

I may not look it at first but I'm an adrenaline junkie at heart. I've crossed hang gliding, cliff diving, ziplining, and skydiving off the list. Hoping to add unaided frefall at some point in the near future.

Theatre - Acting/Set Construction

I've performed in three shows - "And Then There Were None", "A Midsummer Night's Dream", and "45 Seconds From Broadway" - and have served as Technical Director for five shows - "Footloose", "Songs For A New World", The Addams Family Musical", "Next To Normal", and "Mary Poppins".

Art

I enjoy being artistic, but I have been able to explore it as much as I would like to. These were all a part of my senior portfolio for Technical Theatre in high school.

Service Work

When I first moved to the Pensacola areas 5 years ago, one of the first places I visited was the Pensacola MESS Hall, a nonprofit that teaches kids about Math, Science, Engineering, and Stuff. I now give back to the community by volunteering at the MESS Hall regularly.

Campus Involvement

I am a member of both the Kugelman Honors Program, having served as Social Chair, a mentor, and an OWL, as well as the UWF chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. I'm also one of the founding members of UWF's Solar Car competition team.
