My Story

So this is me...I am extremely close with my family and I am the youngest of three sisters. I am a devout Catholic as well as community oriented. My best moments have been spent volunteering whether with children, disabled, or elderly. In my future I would like to be making a positive impact.

Girl Scouts

I earned my bronze, silver, and gold award. For my Gold Award, I addressed the issue of substance abuse by filming and editing a documentary featuring interviews with multiple recovered addicts. I served on the Board of Directors and Girl Leadership Board for our council.

Above the Influence

This club is a safe place for students above the influence of drugs and alcohol. Junior year I was a Public Relations Officers and Senior year I am the President. We learn about substance abuse to better understand this serious issue and go into the community to support those above the Influence.

Future Business Leaders of America - Secretary

I joined this club Sophomore year and quickly became an active and passionate member, competing at the state conference. I ran for secretary and was elected. At this year's State Leadership Conference, I was a voting delegate and won 4th place in Journalism.

High School Varsity Tennis

Entering high school, I realized I didn't have a spring sport, so I decided to try something new. I love tennis and learned that mental toughness is a vital part of the sport. Every year, we instruct children who participate in our free tennis clinic.

Trumpet

I play the trumpet in Honors Wind Ensemble. Honors Wind Ensemble members travel to compete every other year. This year our band received a rating of Superior. I am a part of the Graduation Band as well. For two years I was a member of the Ludlow Community Band.

Soccer

Soccer was my first sport, starting since I was 5. Freshman and Sophomore year I was the goal keeper for my school's JV soccer team, occasionally playing midfield. For a year, I joined a travel team in as a midfielder. I now play recreationally. Throughout my career I've played every position.

High School Marching/Pep Band

We march in various parades as well as at Memorial Day and Veterans Day services. Every year we preform a half-time show at a football game. Our marching band recently won our category in the Saint Patrick's Day parade.

National Honors Society

Junior year, I was inducted into the National Honors Society. I had many new ideas for our NHS chapter, so I decided to run for an officer position and was elected Sergeant at Arms.

Varsity Track & Field

After finding my love for indoor track, I made the tough decision to switch spring sports from tennis to track & field. I'm now competing in both shot-put and discus.

Volunteering at the library

Last year, I started to volunteer at my local public library. During the summer I help with the summer reading program activities. My favorite was "Get in the Games!" in which I showed children how to play various board games and then played with them.

Volunteering at the Q99.7

I volunteer at the Christian contemporary Q99.7 radio station. Before and after concerts, I often am in charge of making sure the artists are taken care of as well as help in the setup/takedown process. We often go out into the community to promote our station.

Jazz Band

I started jazz in middle school and continued on into high school with the occasional solo. Last year I was lead trumpet in the early band, and this year I was accepted into the late band.

Saint Cecilia's Youth Group

Falcon Friends

In my high school's "Best Buddies" program we run events to include the Collaborative students in the Minnechaug community. It's great to get to know them and I've been able to forge friendships with people with various disabilities.

Basketball

For a few years I played basketball at a competitive level, but I realized it was more enjoyable for me to play at a recreational level as I have more freedom as a player. My team has a close bond and we all work hard to overcome our tough competitors.

Naval Academy Summer Seminar

I had the life changing opportunity of spending a week at USNA with a diverse group of students from around the country. Through seeing the mental, moral, and physical development and sense of community in such an environment, I have decided to pursue a military career.

Travel

I've traveled to Puerto Rico multiple times growing up as half of my relatives live on the island. I took a week long trip with stops in London and Sweden, but the majority of the days spent in Denmark. This was a very eye opening cultural experience that made me reflect on the American way of life.

Chess Club

Since kindergarten, I have been playing chess and entering competitions. I had forgotten my passion for chess for a few years, but freshman year I joined my high school's chess club and I found my love for the game again. The Minnechaug chess club competes against other high schools in our area.

Social Media, Photography, & Videography

Social media is an important aspect of today's highly technological world. Besides my personal social media, I have two Instagram accounts and a Twitter from the viewpoint of my rabbit. Taking photographs and filming videos of my lionhead rabbit, Pepper, has proven to be difficult, yet rewarding.

Indoor Track

Junior year I decided to try indoor track and I fell in love with it. I enjoy working out everyday at practice and pushing myself to beat my personal records each meet when doing shotput.

Altar Server

Since 5th grade, I have been an altar server at my church, Saint Cecilia's. As I entered high school, I was trained to be a Master of Ceremonies. Now I am an MC running my altar server team on a tight shift.

Wilbraham Public Access

I volunteer at my local public access channel. I do various tasks from recording concerts to editing public service announcements to interviewing people at town events. I have gotten familiar with the Final Cut Pro editing program.
