My Story

My parents have given me so much that I'm inspired to give back to them as much as I can. I have a huge stereotypical Mexican family that have encouraged me to branch out of my comfort zone. I have learned so much from colorguard, volunteering, and adventuring with friends!

Camp Savio

Camp Savio is a summer camp that I have been active in for three years. First, I was a regular counselor and then I was promoted to a head counselor. A head counselor leads the grade (mine was 4th grade and had minimum 45 max 75 kids and counselors each day). I loved my 4th grade Secret Agents!

SYLC (Salesian Youth Leadership Conference)

SYLC is a conference held every summer in Aptos, California and parishes from all over the west coast attend. In my parish, you must be invited to represent. I participated in 2015. Then in 2016 I applied to be apart of SYLC's Spirit Team which help lead the participants throughout the day.

Colorguard/Winterguard

Colorguard is a sport of the arts that uses sabres, rifles, and flags. The new program was small but regardless I made sure that me and my co-captain motivated our team to have a great season. Last year, we placed 5th out of 60! I hope that the program continues to grow after I graduate high school.

Oratory

Oratory is a free youth program offered every Saturday for 3.5 hours. Throughout the day with the youth we play with them, show skits, lead team games, and guide them through workshops. I love playing with the kids and making sure that whatever time they spend at oratory is filled with happiness.

Tutoring

I have tutored for public and private school middle schoolers and elementary students. I enjoy tutoring kids who have difficulty in mathematics but I have tutored in every subject. Helping youth understand their homework or achieving a good grade on a test puts a smile on their face I love to see.
