Student Media
My Story
Hi! I'm Grace! I love traveling, serving others, trying new things, and spending time with my family and my 56 "sisters" at Sacred Heart. I am a movie enthusiast, a hard worker, and an eager, involved student. I can't wait to spread my horizons to all that college brings. Welcome to my ZeeMee!
Student Government
Student council has played a big role in my high school career! As the class president during my Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior years, and as the Executive Board President this year, I have always challenged myself to contribute positively to my grade, to my school and to the entire community!
Other Leadership
On top of student council, I engage in many other leadership roles! I have led my grade's annual Rally, a community building day filled with activities, as a Rally Chair. I have also been the Junior prom chair, a NHS/ Mu Alpha Theta member, an Eucharistic minister, and a Peer Support leader!
Community Outreach
Throughout my high school career, I have enjoyed participating in many service activities. These include Ghost in the Oaks, a Halloween fundraiser, Second Harvest's gleaning , the Annual Walk for the Hungry, Basket of Hope deliveries, Katrina 10, Coastal Restoration, and Rebuilding New Orleans!
Shelby Works Club
This club honors my best friend's late sister Shelby Leonhard, an "ASH" student. As a President for 2 years, I have helped raise awareness for cancer by orchestrating and participating in Shelby's blood drives, Pantene Beautiful lengths, and selling homemade scrunchies, Shelby's favorite accessory!
Mission Trips to Nicaragua
For the past 2 summers, I have worked in Chinandega, Nicaragua with Amigos for Christ! I helped dig water trenches for communities to receive running water for the first time, worked on a school, spoke Spanish, played with many kids, visited the elderly, and face-painted! I can not wait to go back!
Cheerleading
School spirit is one of my passions because I am such a proud student of the Academy of the Sacred Heart! This year I am the cheer-leading captain which has allowed me to lead the team, help with any advertising at my school, attend all of the sporting events, and participate in pep rallies!
What I enjoy!
On top of immersing myself in leadership and volunteer opportunities, I have many forms of recreation that I devote myself to. I love art, cooking, practicing yoga, and playing with my dog. I also love writing--especially when it is persuasive or reflective!
