'Big Brother and Big Sisters'

I Initiated and was the leader of an after school activity with some of my classmates in where we tutor elementary students in a fun way while also reenforcing their studying and interacting skills. I think teaching is the best way of learning and what better way than with adorable little kids?

Community Service

Helping others has always made me a happier person. All through my High school years I have contributed in projects regarding less fortunate people in my community (Quito, Ecuador). My highlights have been a christmas gift drive for families and a anti-violence campaign, where I focused on children

NHS

Through NHS I have gotten the chance to reinforce my leadership and responsibility skills while also representing my community in and out of school. I was treasurer last year and was elected president this year.

Music

Music has always been a part of my life. I learned to play piano when I was 7 in a kid college program in Bogota and continued until I was 14. I also participated in several choirs throughout my elementary middle and high school. Now, in my free time I do some self taught piano to play what I enjoy

Photography

Give me a camera and a few minutes and that sums up what I love to do in my free time. I've taken a few photography courses on photoshop and old style photography. I have an instagram account to exhibit what I think are my best. I also contributed with some photos for my school's yearbook.

Student Council

I recently decided to run for class representative of the 11th grade and was chosen by my classmates to do to. It's been a great opportunity to have an insight of how school activities take place and improve and I have really enjoyed being part of that development and school improvement!

Model United Nations

This year I joined the model united nations and represented the county of Ecuador while discussing the issue of refugees in Europe. It was a great opportunity to be part of my school's conference and debate issues properly. I look forward to joining next year

Eli's Pottery Helper

This summer I decided to improve my artistic skills and help out a local small pottery business in Bogota Colombia by going twice a week to the 'factory' to spend half the time helping produce pottery to sell and the rest of the time learning new ceramics techniques
